Abstract:
India is the 4th largest economy in the world after US, China, and Japan with respect to nominal GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and is heading towards $5 trillion economy by 2024. With respect to PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) India is ranked as the 3rd largest economy in the world. This paper describes the factors impacting the knowledge based industries in emerging markets such as India; the factors include data, skilled workforce, economy, employability, global competition, FDI, marketing and customer support, thinking global-acting local, innovation, entrepreneurship, ICT, training infrastructure, industry oriented training programs, and quality of teachers.
